LPG was honored to work with the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center and Nathan Adelson Hospice to produce a series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that are helping to spread awareness in the Las Vegas Community for those affected by the tragedy on October 1, 2018. The PSAs were produced to help spread the message that it’s okay to reach out for help if you are coping with effects from the incident whether you were present when it occurred, responded to the aftermath, or are a family member or friend of a victim or someone who was in harm’s way. Experts say it can take people months or years to recognize impacts from traumatic events, and the stigma associated with seeking mental health assistance often stops people from reaching out for help.

Levy Production Group was hired to produce a set of PSAs in English and Spanish, from concept to completion, that would be impactful and effective in communicating the message to all those who needed to hear it. The pre-production process included meeting with some of the survivors to discuss the reasons why they might not have initially reached out for help. This prepared us to write the scripts in a way that authentically told the story of what so many are currently struggling through. We then worked with the Center to identify a wide range of community members who were willing to lend their voices to this incredibly important project including victims, police officers, firefighters, fire chiefs, EMT first responders, doctors, nurses, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joe Lombardo. The message was delivered by both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking participants.

The Vegas Strong Resiliency Center is a place of healing and support dedicated to serving as a resource and referral center for residents, visitors and responders affected by the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. The Center is staffed by knowledgeable and caring professionals to help people access resources to help them build strength and resiliency in the aftermath of this incident. Since the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center opened in Oct. 2017, it has served more than 8,000 people. Services include victim advocacy and support; legal consultations for civil legal matters such as debt collection, foreclosure, insurance claims via the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and family law issues; and counseling and spiritual care referrals. The PSAs were made possible thanks to a grant from Nathan Adelson Hospice and The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
