The final episode of the “Behind The Vegas Ice” series premiered on October 18, 2017, locally in Las Vegas on Cox Communications, marking an end to an incredible journey for Levy Production Group of documenting the creation of our city’s first-ever professional sports team. As the leader in the Las Vegas television production industry for over 35 years, we knew we had to be there on the ground from the very beginning to tell this historic story of the Vegas Golden Knights. Levy Production Group worked out a deal with the NHL, the owners of the Vegas team, and local Las Vegas cable provider Cox Communications to produce a ten-episode documentary series that would chronicle the whole process from the day the team was announced until the puck drop at the first season home opener in Vegas.

Levy producers worked closely with the Vegas Golden Knights hockey team to make sure we were there shooting every major moment of the team’s creation. The full “Behind The Vegas Ice” series is comprised of ten episodes chock-full of exciting behind-the-scenes footage of how a major league sports team is created from nothing, in a city that’s never before had professional sports. Approximately 65 days of shooting captured the team choosing a name, hiring management, building a practice facility, growing a fan base, scouting players, drafting a team, unveiling jerseys, and preparing the team for their first season in the NHL. In addition to capturing the team’s story as it unfolded in Las Vegas, Levy Production Group crews also followed the team to Montreal, Brandon, and Vancouver in Canada, as well as Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, and Whitefish, Montana. “Behind The Vegas Ice” has received praise from local TV, radio, and digital news, and was honored with a Southwest Regional Emmy from the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences in the category of Sports programming.
